Another story, pretty much made during a brain storm. Almost one week from having primary idea to final product. I will admit it may be crap-but I had to get it out or else it would never be.

Inspiration came from a bit of accidental binging thanks to cable TV: "The Perfect Storm", "The Guardian", an episode of "Burn Notice" where a CG cutter (and its main cannon) was an important part of Westen's threat to someone. And then seeing on YouTube this episode of a show called "Modern Sniper" showcasing the HITRON division.

I tried to be as accurate as possible with the Coast Guard stuff, but I definitely made some goofs. If anybody who is USCG ends up reading this: sorry.

(For example: the real Causeway Island IRL is only an administrative base with some additional things for R&R like a bar and miscellaneous. On The Line, Causeway has been expanded to have some helipads and frontline deployment capacity).

And yeah, "NBCNM" (or on the other side of the pond, "ABCNM") would stand for "Nuclear/Atomic Biological Chemical Nano Magic". Goes to show how crazy things have become in terms of potential threats.

It happens during the Fourth of July. Probably is happening at the same time as OrionPax09's "Legends of the Fourth of July" (and maybe Nescaro's "Kaboom Town" story, which is a prequel to "Legends").

The name "Gorman" and that little quip by him at the very end are homages to "Aliens". Even if the damn Xeno scares the living fucking hell out of me (then again, kudos to Giger (R.I.P.) for creating it in all its pants-wettingly horrifying glory), "Aliens" is one of my all-time favourites. Would have added the "on the pipe, five-by-five" quip too, if I had known where to add it.

The "vitamin compound" thing is a bit of a homage to "The Andromeda Strain" and the whole issue with the catheter is an homage to a tech tidbit/joke on "Knights of Sidonia".

The mention of "Big Kahuna Burgers"... yeah, that's Tarantino/Rodriguez homage. Specifically, the "From Dusk Till Dawn" TV Series.

And yeah, that "Haruka Nanase" is THAT Haruka Nanase-the one from the "swimming Anime", "Free!". Saw a couple of episodes, animation is pretty good quality (especially the water effects-obvious, because a show on which all the damn "action" sequences happen in water having bad effects would be like shooting yourself in the foot with a .50). Another example of the Coreline setting creating badasses, one way or another.

I will admit, I don't like "Family Guy" much. There are some good jokes here and there and Seth MacFarlane is a very good voice actor, impressive with musical scenes and not bad at all with action sequences (like every single Peter vs. Chicken fight, Stan being curb-stomped in the "American Dad" episode "Haylias" and the "Die Hard" homage/rip-off on "The Cleveland Show"). But *everything else*...
