HAIL TO THE KING-ZONE FIGHTER CONCEPT.

Concept art-slash-fan art for the Neon Genesis Evangelion/Godzilla crossover fanfic "Hail To The King", by Thuktun Flishithy (TV Tropes page: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php… , Fanfiction dot Net link: www.fanfiction.net/s/10923475/…).

On the story, Shinji becomes Zone Fighter (tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php… , which is pretty much Toho's answer to Ultraman (one which fought against and alongside Godzilla and his gallery a few times)). This story goes even further with the concept by making "Zone Fighter" an energy alien that bonds with humans rather than a humanoid/human-like alien that can transform into a battle (and then a giant) form.

Ironically enough, this story has managed to go further than the *actual* stories with Shinji becoming an Ultraman that are currently filed on FF-Dot-Net.

This is classified as a "concept" and "Fan Art" because of a very specific issue: while it follows the general description of Zone Fighter as he appears on the story (with armor plating on spots rather than everything being "spandex"), the reference used is different from the one that the actual author used for his description. Instead, it uses this art concept for Zone Fighter:

 

So there are things which differ (like the Iron Man-style retracting helmet plate-the story's Zone Fighter doesn't has that. Also the concept art the author uses (and the other reference art above) still has some spandex-like details on the design-this art makes Shinji look like he's wearing a powered armor).

In any case, I hope it still draws interest to the story. It is a pretty good story. Certainly is one of (if not the) best Evangelion/Godzilla crossover over Fanfiction dot Net right now.
