CORELINE/Pacific Rim: JG-57 'EL DIABLO ROBOTICO'. by marcoasalazarm CORELINE/Pacific Rim: JG-57 'EL DIABLO ROBOTICO'. by marcoasalazarm
(Created on the Warner Bros. "Create A Jaeger" app: [link]
Also, to get in the mood: [link] -Main theme of "Pacific Rim", by Ramin Djawadi. [link] -article on "Reporting Names" by TV Tropes).

DESIGNATION: JG-57 "MAGNIFICO" ("Magnificent") JAEGER.
REPORTING NAME: "DIABLO ROBOTICO" ("Robot Devil").

MANUFACTURER: Aztechnology (Mexico City, Mexico), under exclusive design and manufacturing contract to the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps.

ROLE: Frontline Combat.

WEAPONRY:
-1 Hyperedge Blade with Technomagical Self-Regenerating Acid Drip Reserve (Right Arm).
-1 Extended-Range Repulsor Beam Cannon (Left Hand, Palm).
-1 Deployable Extended-Range Laser Cannon w/Magic-Projecting and Focusing Circuitry (Left Arm).
-1 Pulse Laser Cannon w/Magic-Projecting and Focusing Circuitry (Chest).

ADDITIONAL SPECIAL EQUIPMENT:
-Enhanced-Range Sonar & Radar with 3-D Acoustic Imaging.
-EMP Shielding.
-Advanced Targeting Computer with IFF Discriminator.
-Anti-Gravity Pods ("A-Pods") on Back.
-Enhanced Life-Support Systems and Autodoctor for Pilots.
-Magic Projecting and Focusing Circuitry (draws from and boosts pilot's natural magical power (if pilot has any). Links to pilot's nervous system, enhancing accuracy and range of pilot's spellcasting).

POWER SOURCE: Palladium Reactor. Power output can be enhanced by drawing from pilot's magical reserves (if pilot has any).

ARMOR: MDC Foam-Metal Composites layered between reactive nano-gel and diamond ceramics.

COST: CLASSIFIED.

Designed and manufactured by Aztechnology mere months after the unveiling of the JG-55 "Hellraiser", it is the second mass-produced Coreline-built Jaeger design on the market.

The "Diablo" owes a great deal of inspiration to the Cthulhutech universes' New Earth Government "Sword"-series mecha (and would be pretty much a flat-out rip-off if not for its classification as (and using the control systems of) a Jaeger, plus some additional gizmos). The design uses Magitek on several of its gadgets and its weapons systems, giving it an edge against the Kaiyu if it's piloted by magic-capable (or ki-generating) beings (and the more they can produce of either, the keener said edge is).

The reporting name is very much meant to be an insult to Aztechnology, owing to the fact that 1) its factory color scheme uses a lot of red, 2) Aztech has a history of using nasty archane rituals (such as blood magic and human sacrifices to Aztec gods) to empower magical artifacts, and 3) it sounds like a luchador "heel", which is just plainly what Aztech doesn't wants the "Magnifico" to be seen as.

(Pacific Rim owned by Warner Brothers Pictures and Legendary Pictures, Cthulhutech owned by Wildfire LLC and Black Sky, Aztechnology owned by WizKids. Adapted by marcoasalazarm. Acknowledging the Latin American translation of "Futurama" and the "Angel" episode "The Cautionary Tale Of Numero Cinco" for inspiration on the reporting name).

You're going to need a better powerplant if you're going to survive...I guarantee, even with the arcanotech, you're going to hit some massive overloads.  Database files for a fusion powerplant are available.

Also, all of that hardware may lead to rigid thinking...the Kaiju adapt fast.  They nearly killed us with that adaptability.  Never assume your Jaeger is going to win all...it's all down to your pilots.

Ok, those ideas sound good actually.

On the "hardware" end, all I can say is that it's best to have and not need than need and not have. At least makes shooting them to bits a good fight opener.

Thanks, man. Doing my best with the fluff. It's actually a mite hard, but what can be done 'bout it?

Cool! I found out that Guillermo Del Toro did indeed have a Mexican Jaeger called "Matador Fury" but it was scarped because there were to many backstories

I read that on the Wikia for Pacific Rim (would have been cool, from what little it says-having convicts as pilots and the like). Being Mexican, I guess that was somewhat bitter for Mr. Del Toro (but what can be done? Movie could have been bad with too much stuff, movie still can be bad if there's too little. Balance has to be achieved (and hopefully it was achieved), and hopefully we'll see expanded universe stuff where the Matador will have a chance to kick ass).

An anime series would be insanely awesome.

And the moment guys like Kojima, Go Nagai and one of the Eva guys say "Watch this movie right the hell now"... well, yeah, it sounds awesome.
